he was hoping around with a healthy diet and was eating fine why did he die so suddenly

He might have eaten something he shouldnt have.. or maybe he fell or went into shock.. rabbits can die if they get really frightened i actually had one die of shock

Rabbits are very fragile and there are a great number of things that kill them very quickly. They don't like a change of diet, they can't eat a large quantity of lettuce, if you drop them it can damage their spinal cord and they nibble every thing - Have a look to see if there was anything which he has nibbled that could be poisonous - there are lots of dangerous objects in the home and lots of plants in the Garden which they should not eat.
